Do you know the largest mammal migration on Earth? It is not the wildebeest. It is a small animal that flies. Every year, millions of bats fly across Africa. They are called straw-coloured fruit bats. In October, they travel from the Congo rainforest. They fly towards a small forest in Zambia. This place is called Kasanka National Park. More than eight million bats arrive here. They come to eat delicious wild fruit. The fruit grows after the first rains. At night, the bats fly into the sky to find food. They look like a giant cloud. This dark cloud covers the trees. It is a wonderful sight. Very few travellers see this amazing event because the park is small and quiet. The bats help the forest grow by dropping seeds. They stay for only a few months before they leave again.
