Look! This is a very special jellyfish. It is tiny, and its body is clear like glass. It lives in the sea in many places around the world.

Most animals get old, but this little jellyfish is different. When it is hurt or hungry, it stops swimming. Slowly, it sinks to the bottom of the water. Then something amazing happens! The jellyfish turns into a small, round ball.

Now, after one to three days, a new baby grows from the ball. It looks like a little plant. Soon, this baby makes hundreds of new jellyfish, and they are all young and strong. People call it the ‘immortal jellyfish’ because it starts its life again and again.

Today, a scientist called Maria is studying these jellyfish in her lab. She wants to find their big secret. Doctors hope the secret helps sick people feel better one day.

But this jellyfish is not super strong. Fish and turtles love to eat it, and sometimes there is no food. So it needs to stay safe in the big blue sea!
